Christmas Day

Christmas Day which falls on December 25th each year is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in many countries around the world. It was originally a christian celebration to commemorate the birthday of Jesus. The holiday is also being celebrated by an increasing number of non-christian worldwide.

Modern customs of Christmas Day include gift-giving, carols, Christmas cards, church celebrations, a special meal, and the display of various decorations; including Christmas trees, lights and nativity scenes.

Red and green are the traditional colors for Christmas. Red symbolizes the blood of Jesus and green for eternal life. White, silver and gold are also popular color for this celebration.
